Understanding the user-case for the tokenisation of environmental participation
The obvious starting point for this blog is, “what is a digital token and why would an environmental action group endorse the use of same?”
The environment4change team are building a set of digital services for the global ‘ALL’ to enable, encourage and embolden access and participate in meaningful and innovative environmental action. The future platform will be controlled by the users and members of the environment4change global community. The corresponding digital token will be a cryptographic digital token used to access, interact, transfer and mediate commerce and utility value within the environment4change platform and around the environment4change ecosystem.
Participation and support of our digital services will be descriptive of your support for what the environment4change team is determined to achieve. The project is set to build a scarce resource, an environmental focused, Platform as a Service (PaaS), represented by a scarce digital token, focused on representing an aggregated, cooperative and collaborating intent to save our global endangered habitats and clear our global waterways, land and air of dangerous and noxious contaminants.
The team at environment4change have chosen to use Blockchain technology in our architecture for many reasons. If our environment and its treatment, repair, correction and rehabilitation does not deserve the focus of a digital token then what possible global cause does? environment4change needs to execute our vision of aggregation, access, unity and enabling greater global participation, learning and awareness with complete trust. Blockchain architecture affords a new level of transparency, and hence trust around environmental activities and the spending of collected global funds gifted by generous participates of the cause.
Use of the environment4change digital token will be seamless and happens under the hood of the services architecture. By the tokenisation of environmental participation, we afford the architecture a future where the environment4change community can engage in the running of the organisation through a decentralised autonomous organisational (DAO) structure and the digital services that architecture will provide.
Utility
The environment4change digital token will be fungible, transferable and fractionally divisible. All transactions, whether caused by a donation of time, money, goods and services or anything else whatever, will be represented in a movement of digital tokens within the ecosystem. Further, value transfer inside, outside and around the ecosystem border will also be enabled via a number of 3rd party gateways enabling a rich digital token velocity within the platform, in the service of a globally borderless geographic marketplace. The environment4change team believe the token can grow to represent the digital currency of choice and trust when it comes to all things environmental. A lofty desire but one obtainable with the help of environmental collaborators and ‘all of you!’
User Case
Potential user cases of the environment4change digital token is only limited by our global communities’ imagination and entrepreneurship. The actual act of tokenisation happens seamlessly and without the user or environmentalist knowing anything about the backend machinations.
Our digital token will represent all value interactions and movements within the environment4change platform, ecosystem and marketplace and all value exchange at the digital borders of platform, ecosystem and external marketplace. Furthermore, all exchange with partner and collaborating organisations and environmental groups and individuals will be transacted by the use of our digital tokens. This includes receipt of all donations, as well as gifted prizes and rewards.
Usage of the environment4change digital token will include but limited to:
• Donations of time, money and resources
• Prizes to community and environmental project managers and give-aways
• Purchase of materials, expertise and labour
• Purchase of goods and services from businesses critical to the environment4change circular economy
• Payment for collection of plastics and other recyclables and pollutants
• Payment for other environmental work leading to cleaning up our shared Planet
Users
Our goal is to utilise what a Blockchain provides, transparency and trust, and make our vision, and what it speaks to available to all, while providing a user-friendly web service application that makes sense and is easy to navigate, even to a newbie to the world of application services. This is an important distinction to make as our audience, our participants and community will include a great majority of caring people who neither know nor care for the workings of a Blockchain – and that’s exactly as it should be. Complexities of blockchain technologies around wallets and transactions will be ‘under the hood’ and invisible to the end users to ensure all who want to participant in environment4change’s environmentalism do not encounter a Blockchain knowledge or experience, barrier to entry.
